Your Picacho Peak Adventure!

Picacho Peak

Picacho Peak – Picacho Peak is a gorgeous feature to the skyline around Las Cruces, NM. Depending on your angle you have several ranges in the background: the Sleeping Lady Hills, Rough & Ready Hills, Sierra de las Uvas, and the Robledo Mountains. From the peak, you can see many landmarks that make Southern NM one of the most beautiful outdoor destinations in the world.

Picacho Peak reaches 4959-feet high. The recreation area has over 15 miles of mountain biking, hiking, and equestrian trails. Although most of the recreational use occurs on the peak, there are also large canyons and mesa tops to explore. On your way into the recreation area, you can also turn left and explore deeper into the canyons.

In celebration of the 5th Anniversary of the Oran Mountain Desert Peaks National Monument, our Down with OMPD Adventures are available to everyone while supplies last!
